Joint launch event of the four sectoral TEFs.

The EU is investing heavily in the further development of AI and robotics-based technologies as part of the "Digital Europe" program. Now, the four sectoral Test and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs) have been officially opened by a joint kick-off event.

On June 27, 2023, the project partners of agrifoodTEF met with the numerous partner organizations of the three other sectoral TEFs for a joint opening event in the heart of Copenhagen. The sectoral TEFs, in addition to agrifoodTEF, are the AI-Matters, TEF-Health and Citcom.ai projects.

The kick-off ceremony was opened by Andreas Holbak Espersen from the Confederation of Danish Industry, whose 'Industriens Hus’ hosted the event, and event organizer and project coordinator of CitCom.ai Martin Brynskov from the Technical University of Denmark. Afterwards, the four TEF coordinators gave an introduction to their respective TEF projects. Parallel to the public kick-off event, the project partners of the individual TEFs met to jointly plan the next steps so that the individual TEFs will be able to offer their services by January 2024 at the latest.

The TEF projects are co-funded by the European Commission and member states for five years and aim to drive the development of safe and trustworthy AI and robotics solutions in the sectors Agriculture & Food Production, Industrial Production, Healthcare and Smart Cities & Communities.
