AgrifoodTEF is a network of test centers in Europe that supports companies & start-ups from the agri-food sector in product development of AI and robotics solutions.

The EU is investing heavily in the further development of AI and robotics-based technologies as part of the "Digital Europe" program. Now, the four sectoral Test and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs) have been officially opened by a joint kick-off event.

In order for the EU to become a world leader in the development of safe and trustworthy AI applications and robotics solutions, so-called TEFs (Test and Experimentation Facilities) have been established for several business sectors.

The kick-off event of AgrifoodTEF took place on 01.02.2023 in Trento (Italy). There, the representatives of more than 20 partner institutions met in person for the first time after months of joint project preparation and laid the foundation for a successful project start.

Federal Minister Norbert Totschnig and State Secretary for Digitalization, Florian Tursky, together with Josephinum Research, present the new EU project agrifoodTEF.

To meet the needs of sustainable smallholder agriculture, the AgrifoodTEF satellite Austria is testing and supporting advanced AI and robotics solutions, especially in organic farming, grassland and alpine areas.
