The testing of agricultural machinery and tractors is the original main task of the "Federal Testing and Testing Institute for Agricultural Machinery and Equipment" (BVPA) founded in 1947. As the "Federal Institute for Agricultural Engineering" (BLT), it developed into one of the most important testing centers in Central Europe from the 1970s onwards. The test mark "Wieselburg tested" has become a trademark well beyond the country's borders.
