The AgrifoodTEF satellite Austria: AI in organic farming, grassland and alpine areas

To meet the needs of sustainable smallholder agriculture, the AgrifoodTEF satellite Austria is testing and supporting advanced AI and robotics solutions, especially in organic farming, grassland and alpine areas.

The Austrian project partners in the consortium are:

  • Josephinum Research (Austrian lead partner): Josephinum Research is a non-university research institution at the HBLFA Francisco Josephinum in Wieselburg and has extensive know how in the field of digitalization, precision farming, robotics and AI. For 3 years, Josephinum Research has been operating the "Innovation Farm" together with a large partner network, where innovative technologies for agriculture are tested and demonstrated.

  • FH Wiener Neustadt: The FH Wiener Neustadt has extensive expertise in the field of robotics and sensor technologies. The degree program "Agricultural Technology and Digital Farming" at FH Wiener Neustadt teaches competencies in digital technologies for agriculture.

  • Raumberg-Gumpenstein Research & Development: The partially incorporated institution at HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein has in-depth know-how in the field of digital technologies in animal husbandry.
