Research Day at the BMLRT

The day of research in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism was dedicated to the topic of "Digitization for liveable regions".

The online event was opened by Robert Pichler, Head of Research, Development and Business Services at the BMLRT. The “Innovation Farm” was presented in a video, in which new technologies for agriculture are demonstrated and made visible. In her opening speech, Federal Minister Elisabeth Köstinger referred to the importance of making new technologies usable for as many people as possible. The President's President and Chief Digital Officer at the BMLRT, Mr. Reinhard Mang, emphasized in his keynote the importance of a high-performance infrastructure through broadband expansion. The new Director General of ESA, Mr. Josef Aschbacher, was connected live from Paris. The ESA plays a central role in earth observation and the opportunities that arise specifically for agriculture.
