Estimation and control of soil roughness by optical methods at seeding

Abstract

The project targets the development and definition of a method to evaluate and control the soil-surface roughness at the position between rotary harrow and drilling machine.

By means of optical methods, a roughness index will be defined and calculated online. To approach the desired roughness, a TIM application (ISOBUS III) is introduced. In a closed loop approach driving speed and PTO-speed of the rotary harrow are controlled. These set points will be developed by tests in practice.
